Outstanding Contribution Award sponsored by MAKE it Sunderland

Winner – Graham Bagley, Nissan Europe Construction Manager

Beneficiary – Nissan Skills Foundation

As one of the original members of staff, Graham Bagley joined Nissan’s Sunderland Plant on 15th September 1986. During his first seven years Graham oversaw the construction of the Sunderland site’s buildings needed for both vehicle and powertrain production, plus the numerous support facilities. Fast forward a further 25 years and Graham has contributed a significant amount to the plant including overseeing the plant’s accreditation to ISO14001; the installation of 10 wind turbines; the construction of a 25,000m2 lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant; as well as extensions to Body Shop and Trim and Chassis 2 for Infiniti production. Graham’s enthusiasm for the Sunderland site remains the same as it was in 1986, having just completed new Press and Paint shops, to replace those he constructed over 30 years ago.
