The Explorer Group was founded in the mid-1960s. It is headquartered in County Durham, employs a workforce of about 400 and is behind the Buccaneer, Compass, Elddis and Xplore brands.
The company – which is known for its SoLiD Construction technique – has steadily increased its share of the UK market in recent years and was recently bought by the Erwin Hymer Group.
For the year to 31 December 2016, the Explorer Group reported turnover of £102m, compared with £85.5m the previous 12 months.
Pre-tax profits were also up from £2.42m to £4.22m.
In a strategic report accompanying the results, the Explorer Group said: "While the total market has sown some recovery and confidence is improving within the industry, the company continues to place importance on its production flexibility and ability to respond to long term market changes and fluctuations."
Upon completion of the Erwin Hymer deal, which will include the Explorer Group being rebranded as Erwin Hymer Group UK, managing director Rob Quine said: "It is fantastic that a successful organisation like the Erwin Hymer Group is investing in our future.
"As a new member of the Erwin Hymer Group, we will have access to unique know-how and expertise. We will exploit this strategic opportunity to create permanent added value for our customers."
